Language Lab
A LAN-based interactive language laboratory equipped with software such as Multi speech, Praat, and Wave surfer was set up in the department in 2007 with a grant provided to the department by the University Grants Commission of India. The laboratory is used to complement classroom teaching in Phonetics and Applied Linguistics and also in short-term courses conducted by the department
Computational Linguistics Lab
The Department of Linguistics is in the process of developing a fully fledged lab facility for Computational Linguistics. Computational Linguistics is an interdisciplinary field which draws on Linguistics and Computer Science. At present the Computational Linguistics Lab is a research and educational lab in the Department of Linguistics. It is used to supplement classroom teaching of the coursers in Computational Linguistics. The lab sessions include demonstrations and hands on experience of the relevant online tool
