Free E-Resources for Differently Abled Students

Deccan College Library has subscribed to the online resources of Sugamya Pustakalaya. It is a one-stop resource for the reading requirements of all those persons with blindness, weak eyesight or any other disability who cannot read the information in standard print format.

Sugamya Pustakalaya is a collaborative effort of TCS, Daisy Forum of India, and NIEPVD (National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities), Government of India to end the book famine faced by people with print disabilities.

Users can access books in diverse languages from various libraries across India. Sugamya Pustakalaya provides users with access to books from all over the world in collaboration with international agencies like Bookshare and Accessible Books Consortium. Users can access a collection of over 6,53,234 books, maintain their individual reading shelves online and also download books in chosen formats.

How to use & obtain information

  • Click here to register as end user
  • Choose Deccan College Library while submitting a membership application
  • Daisy Forum of India shall confirm from Deccan College Library for approval and then intimate the user by e-mail/ SMS
  • After the approval of the membership, user can log in to Sugamya Pustakalaya to access or download the contents in full text, 24x7, anywhere
