|WORKSHOP ON EPIGRAPHY AND MANUSCRIPTOLOGY OF WESTERN INDIA

The workshop will commence with the theoretical sessions dealing with the development of Nagari, Devanagari and Nandinagari from Brahmi script. Further then, the participants will be divided into two groups. One group will be studying Sanskrit/Prakrit inscriptions, copper plates and manuscripts while the other group will study medieval Marathi inscriptions and documents in Devanagari and Modi respectively.
Along with this, lectures pertaining to various aspects of Epigraphy and manuscript studies will be organized which will be common for both the groups. The organizers of the workshop propose to conduct a session in practical training in taking estampages of stone inscriptions and copper plates.
